What causes aseptic meningitis?

Aseptic meningitis can be caused by the following possible reasons: i. Aseptic meningitis caused by viral infections, such as herpes simplex virus may cause aseptic meningitis. Second, certain medications may cause aseptic meningitis. Third, intracranial tumors as well as tumors of other systems may present with aseptic meningitis. Diseases of endocrine system and rheumatology system may cause aseptic meningitis, for example, patients with systemic lupus erythematosus may develop aseptic meningitis. Patients with aseptic meningitis need to be actively treated, and some patients will have recurrent attacks.
