Acupuncture points that can be moxibrated on the knee include calf’s nose, yinlingquan, yanglingquan, and so on.
1. calf’s nose, i.e., external knee eye, belongs to the foot yangming stomach meridian, is located in the lateral side of the knee joint, the lower edge of the patella, patellar ligament lateral depression, can be used for the treatment of knee pain, flexion and extension of unfavorable. It can be used for the treatment of knee joint soreness and unfavorable flexion and extension.
2. Yinlingquan, belonging to the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian, is located in the depression of the lower edge of the medial tibial condyle. It can be used to treat knee joint disorders as well as jaundice, diarrhea, abdominal distension, and dysuria. It can be moxibued.
3. Yanglingquan (阳陵泉), belonging to the foot Shaoyang bile meridian, is located on the lateral side of the lower leg, in the depression below the anterior tip of the fibula. It can be used for jaundice, bitter taste in the mouth, pediatric convulsions (a pediatric disease mainly manifested by dizziness, convulsions and seizures), and knee joint disorders. Moxibustion is available.
