How to maintain oral hygiene after implant surgery?

The sutures used to close the implant wound are antibacterial absorbable sutures, which are resistant to bacteria. However, there are often patients whose wounds are not fully healed when the sutures are removed, due to the relaxation of oral hygiene after the implant surgery or the fear of performing oral cleaning operations. In general, the healing time of the intraoral implant wound is 7 to 10 days. During this period, except for the day of surgery when no tooth brushing and mouth rinsing is performed, proper oral cleaning should be performed, usually with a fine soft toothbrush to clean the non-implant area and an antibacterial mouthwash for half a minute to maintain the hygiene of the wound area. After removal of the stitches, the soft tissues around the incision are healed to a certain extent, and the metal healing cap exposed in the mouth can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush. After the 3-month healing period, the impressions will be taken and the implant area should not be neglected until the teeth are worn.
