The combination of the two can enhance the effects of eliminating phlegm and fullness, promoting the flow of qi and dispersing lumps (to make the qi of the body smooth and dissolve the lumps). It can be used for those with food accumulation and fullness, constipation. Be cautious of using Hou Pu (厚朴) in pregnant women with fluid injury and blood depletion, Qi deficiency. Be cautious of using Hovenia Citriodora in pregnant women. Hovenia dulcis should not be used in pregnant women and those with weak spleen and stomach. Adverse effects of Houpu, Citrus aurantium, Citrus aurantium are not clear, and should be used in accordance with medical advice.
