What are uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are the most common gynecologic tumors in women or mature women, with different clinical manifestations depending on the part of the uterus where the fibroids grow. The fibroids grew into the upper abdomen, cut down 2750mg, as big as a full-term fetus, no clinical manifestations, always feel that the trouser belt is not enough to be found in the hospital examination; there is also the fibroids that grow between the uterine muscles, if it convex to the submucosa will have the performance of submucosal fibroids, convex to the plasma surface will have no symptoms. Even if you have many fibroids in your uterus, but each one is not bigger than 3-5cm and there is no clinical manifestation, it can be left untreated, but you need to observe the growth status by ultrasound every year or half year, and once it suddenly increases, it should be treated by surgery. However, submucosal fibroids should be treated surgically regardless of their size. The textbooks used to say that a total hysterectomy could be done at age 50 if a fibroid needed surgery, while a subtotal hysterectomy could be done at age 40. However, with the improvement of people’s demand for quality of life, more and more women have a higher demand for preserving their sexual organs. I personally believe that if the patient has a good follow-up ability, no matter how old she is, the uterus should not be removed casually because of benign fibroids, and the patient’s will should be fully contended. Ovarian function will be affected after hysterectomy because part of the ovarian blood supply comes from the uterus; pelvic floor dysfunction will occur secondary to hysterectomy, so cutting the uterus due to fibroids should be done carefully, but still, different cases should be handled separately. With the advancement of surgical instruments, more and more surgical procedures can be performed without opening the abdomen as in the past, but with minimally invasive means, such as laparoscopy, while gynecological organs in the pelvis may be more suitable for laparoscopic surgery. If the fibroids are not too big and not too many, they can be solved without opening the abdomen. The surgery is minimally invasive with fast recovery and few days of hospitalization, which is highly respected by female patients, but we are definitely not pursuing a certain type of surgery, but also different situations and discretion. So far there is no drug that can make fibroids disappear, so fibroids still need surgery to be removed, some drugs can make fibroids shrink, and these drugs can be used as drug preparation before surgical removal of huge fibroids, for example, large fibroids that are too big or in special places can be difficult to operate regardless of hysterectomy or excavation of fibroids, and the use of drugs can make fibroids shrink, reduce intraoperative bleeding and decrease Surgery is difficult.
