The birth control ring is also known as the contraceptive ring, at present, China’s clinical application of progestin-containing (levonorgestrel) birth control ring and copper-containing birth control ring. The progestin-containing birth control ring can generally be used for 5 years, and can achieve a better contraceptive effect within 5 years, but with the depletion of progestin, its contraceptive effect may decline after 5 years. In order to ensure better contraceptive effect, women are advised to change the IUD in time. Copper-containing IUDs, including T-copper 220, T-copper 380, etc., can generally be used for 10 years and can achieve good contraceptive effect within 10 years, but with the depletion of copper ions, its contraceptive effect may decline significantly after 10 years. Women using this type of contraceptive ring are advised to replace the IUD in time around 10 years to avoid contraceptive failure. Women should strictly follow the precautions after the implantation of the birth control ring, and regularly review the position of the ring, and promptly consult a doctor if abdominal discomfort is found.
