Dietary considerations after lung cancer surgery

Post-operative diet allocation: The diet is determined according to the condition after surgery. Some patients can eat on the second day of surgery, but they should start from clear flow, and the food should be light, soft, easy to digest and absorb, because the surgical trauma will cause the dysfunction of the digestive system, so don’t be in a hurry when choosing and feeding the food. Start from the simplest, and if there is no adverse reaction in the gastrointestinal tract, then transition to semi-liquid and general diet. In the week after surgery, in addition to consuming clear and semi-liquid, supplement the elemental diet to replenish the nutrition in the body. When you can eat normally, then cancel the elemental diet. Regardless of before or after surgery, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, such as green, yellow and red vegetables, mushrooms, black fungus, asparagus, lemon and red dates, etc., because fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamin C, which is a cancer inhibiting substance and can block the production of cancer cells. Do not eat or eat less stimulating food, including fried food. You can often eat some garlic, which contains anti-cancer substances. Do not smoke or drink alcohol. By adopting good living and eating habits, regular physical examination, timely diagnosis and treatment, you will be able to prolong your life.
