What are nasal polyps and nasal polyposis

Nasal polyp is a common nasal disease, which is the result of tissue edema caused by long-term inflammatory reaction of the nasal mucosa. Nasal polyposis: (1) History of pre-operative and post-operative recurrence of nasal polyps. (2) Glucocorticoid treatment is effective. (3) No obvious boundary between polypoid mucosa and normal mucosa. (4) Extensive inflammatory reaction and polypoid degeneration of bilateral nasal-sinus mucosa, involving multiple sinuses. The histology is predominantly eosinophilic.
