Can CT detect early cirrhosis?

CT is able to detect early cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is a kind of liver lesion caused by various reasons characterized by fibrosis of liver tissue, loss of normal structure and pseudo lobe formation. Cirrhosis results in changes in the morphology of the liver, such as an imbalance between the left and right ratios, atrophy of the liver, and a wave-like change in the surface of the liver. Pseudolobule formation and regenerative nodules can lead to diffuse fibrosis and sclerosis of the liver, which in turn affects the vascularity and morphology of the liver, and these changes can be observed by abdominal CT, which can clearly diagnose cirrhosis of the liver. In addition, CT abdomen can also detect other complications of liver cirrhosis, such as the presence of esophagogastric fundus varices, spleen enlargement, portal hypertension, ascites and so on. If patients are diagnosed with early cirrhosis, it is recommended that they go to regular hospitals in time, and after clarifying the cause of the disease, carry out targeted treatment under the guidance of doctors in order to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
