Are prostate nodules hyperplasia?

Prostate nodules are not hyperplasia, they are two different concepts and prostate nodules can be caused by prostate hyperplasia.
Prostate nodules is the imaging term for nodular lesions found on the prostate after examination using ultrasound, CT or MRI, but the nature of the nodules is unknown and further examination is needed to clarify the diagnosis. Prostatic hyperplasia is a pathophysiologic term for an increase in the number of prostate cells and an increase in the size of the prostate gland, as well as a term for a disease.
The connection between prostate nodules and prostate enlargement is that in prostate enlargement, some of the glands may form nodular changes, leading to the diagnosis of nodules in the imaging report. Prostate nodules may be calcified foci of the prostate, malignant lesions, etc., in addition to hyperplasia that may be benign tumors.
