Pneumonia has various causes, so there is no most effective treatment. Clinical treatment is based on medication, mainly causative and symptomatic medication, and when symptoms are severe, supportive therapy should be used.
1. For bacterial and mycoplasma infections, antibiotics such as cefuroxime sodium and azithromycin can be used. For viral infections, antiviral drugs such as ribavirin and acyclovir can be used. For fungal infections, itraconazole, fluconazole and other drugs can be used.
2. Symptomatic medication: For fever and chills, ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be used as antipyretic and analgesic. For those with more sputum, expectorants such as Ambroxol and Bromhexine can be used.
3. Supportive treatment: For those with severe symptoms, bed rest should be given, enough protein, calories and vitamins should be added, and more water should be drunk. Remove nasal secretions in time to keep breathing freely. Patients with respiratory distress may need oxygen via nasal cannula or oxygen mask. In case of severe respiratory failure, a ventilator may be used to assist breathing.
Patients are advised to seek prompt medical attention from a doctor who can identify the cause of the disease and provide targeted treatment. Medications should be used under medical supervision to avoid adverse reactions.
