How to treat pediatric intussusception

Pediatric intussusception is a common disease that causes abdominal pain in children from 6 months to 2 years of age. Pediatric intussusception is mostly primary, with corresponding manifestations of intestinal obstruction, which refers to the formation of intestinal obstruction by a part of the intestinal tube snapping into another part of the class, and is a pediatric acute abdominal condition. Pediatric intussusception is divided into non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment. Once a child is diagnosed with intussusception, it needs to be reset immediately, including air enema reset and surgical treatment. Non-surgical treatment mainly refers to air enemas, barium enemas and water pressure enemas under ultrasound, of which air enemas are the most common and are generally used for children who are in good general condition within 48 hours. The majority of children can be treated satisfactorily with non-surgical treatment, which can quickly relieve the child’s pain and avoid the trauma of surgery. If non-surgical treatment does not achieve satisfactory results, immediate surgery is needed, especially for children suspected of having intestinal necrosis. While preparing for surgery, it is important to actively correct electrolyte disturbances. In conclusion, the treatment effect of pediatric intussusception is relatively good, and most of them can obtain a more satisfactory result by conservative treatment.
