The amount of time you can return to sports after a broken foot is related to the severity of the broken foot. After a minor foot break, it usually takes about a week to gradually return to sports. If there is a fracture, it may take up to 3 months. If the pain is mild and there is no swelling, then it is a minor broken foot, and you can resume exercise gradually after braking for a week or so to relieve the pain. If there is severe swelling and pain after breaking the foot, the muscle or ligament may have been damaged, and rest and braking for at least one month and topical anti-inflammatory drugs (such as diclofenac and flurbiprofen, etc.) are needed. If the pain after breaking the foot is extremely severe and there is joint deformity, a fracture is suspected, and you need to wear crutches to walk, rest for at least three months, and gradually return to normal walking under the guidance of a rehabilitation physician. After breaking the foot, it is recommended to apply brakes and cold compresses, and go to the hospital as soon as possible to take X-rays or do an MRI to find out the condition of the injury, and then carry out targeted treatment.
