If kidney yang deficiency exists, taking Gentian Liver Disease Pill may aggravate the symptoms of yang deficiency because of the cold nature of the medicine. It does not usually directly aggravate kidney yin deficiency and works by clearing dampness and heat from the liver and gallbladder.
Gentian Diarrhea Pill is mainly composed of gardenia, scutellaria baicalensis, chaihu, dihuang, gentian, psyllium, mouton, zejia, baked licorice and other herbs, which can clear dampness-heat and benefit the liver and gallbladder. It can be used for dampness-heat of liver and gallbladder, dizziness, tinnitus, deafness, dystocia and bitterness of mouth (pain in the area of dystocia and ribcage, and bitterness in the mouth), redness of urine, and dampness-heat with menorrhagia.
