Polyps on the liver may be caused by poor cholesterol metabolism, chronic inflammatory stimulation, developmental abnormalities and so on. 1. Poor cholesterol metabolism: due to the dysfunction of bile secretion by liver cells, the total bile acid level decreases and the overall cholesterol level increases, which leads to cholesterol precipitation and the formation of sterol polyps. 2.
