Can rhinitis cause ear pain?

Rhinitis can cause ear pain under certain conditions. Once rhinitis combined with ear pain, it is recommended to go to the ear, nose and throat department of the hospital as soon as possible. First of all, when rhinitis attacks, the nasal mucosa is congested and swollen, thus affecting the drainage of the Eustachian tube, leading to excessive secretion storage, and then the formation of secretory otitis media. The pressure in the ear canal is elevated, resulting in symptoms such as stuffy ears, tinnitus and ear pain. Secondly, when rhinitis, nasal secretions retrograde through the Eustachian tube into the middle ear, forming retrograde infection, resulting in infectious otitis media. This leads to symptoms such as ear stuffiness, tinnitus, ear pain and ear pain in the ear canal. When rhinitis flares up, you should go to the hospital for active treatment to avoid aggravation of symptoms and involvement of other parts of the body.
