Recovery time for finger trauma varies individually and is related to the severity of the injury, the age of the patient, and the treatment. In mild finger cuts, the wound heals in about 3 weeks after debridement and suturing. If the finger trauma is combined with tendon rupture, tendon anastomosis surgery and external fixation with plaster or brace is required, and the tendon heals in about 3-4 weeks. In case of combined finger bone fracture, functional exercise of the finger should be performed after 1 month of repositioning and fixation, and it takes about 3 months to fully recover. Tendon rupture and prolonged plaster or brace fixation after finger fracture can easily cause tendon adhesions, so early functional exercises should be performed under the guidance of a doctor to effectively prevent tendon adhesions. In addition, the injured area should avoid water, keep the local dry and clean, so as not to breed bacteria and cause secondary infection.
