Rabies vaccine and rabies protein are not the same type of drug. Rabies protein refers to rabies virus protein immune serum, which is usually given for a serious dog bite. Generally the whole body multiple bites by cats, dogs or other animals, as well as local wounds are large and deep bleeding a lot, and also a high degree of suspicion that the biting animal is suffering from rabies, must be given near the wound injection rabies protein immune serum to effectively prevent rabies virus. However, if it is an ordinary bite, the wound is not large or deep or just to the animal scratch and other small cases, usually rabies vaccination can be given.
