Fuyao is an acupoint on the foot-shaoyin kidney meridian, located in the lower leg, 2 inches above the tip of the inner ankle, the anterior edge of the Achilles tendon. It has the efficacy of warming the kidneys and inducing diuresis, nourishing yin and clearing heat (nourishing the yin essence and removing heat), and activating the collaterals and channels, and can be used for treating sweating, absence of sweating or excessive sweating, and oedema and other disorders of fluid transmission and distribution. Hegu is an acupoint on the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, located on the back of the hand, between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, when the second metacarpal bone radial midpoint. It can clear away heat and relieve symptoms, activate meridians and channels, sedate and relieve pain, and treat symptoms such as malignant cold (fear of cold) and fever, no sweat or excessive sweating, and coughing.
