The causes of hyperuricemia are categorized as inborn abnormalities of purine metabolism, secondary to other diseases or taking certain medications.
1. Inborn abnormality of purine metabolism. These patients are often accompanied by obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease, clinically known as metabolic syndrome.
2. Secondary to other diseases or taking certain drugs. Due to certain diseases (such as leukemia, multiple myeloma, chronic kidney disease) or taking certain drugs (such as furosemide, aspirin, etc.) inhibit uric acid excretion and lead to hyperuricemia.
Patients with hyperuricemia can go to endocrinology, rheumatology and immunology departments of regular hospitals for consultation, and under the guidance of doctors to improve the relevant examinations to clarify the causes and standardize the treatment.
