The gauze can be removed about one day after the emphysema surgery, but the exact time of removing the gauze is related to the patient’s personal condition.
Whether the patient chooses the external or internal incision method, the gauze can be removed 24 hours (equivalent to one day) after the surgery.
After the gauze is removed, the local wound needs to be sterilized and the dressing changed. If there is more than localized bleeding after the gauze is removed, further localized pressure dressing can be applied to stop the bleeding using the local wound.
If further localized pressure bandage is needed, it is necessary to remove the gauze at intervals of about 30~60 minutes to observe the condition of the wound. During this period need to pay attention to the hygiene of the wound, to reduce the habit of using the eyes, if the wound continues not to see improvement, but also need to go to the hospital for medical treatment.
