High pressure 146, low pressure 99, what kind of antihypertensive drugs to take?

A high pressure of 146 mmHg and a low pressure of 99 mmHg are classified as grade 1 hypertension, and medications such as amlodipine may be used if lifestyle interventions are ineffective and cardiovascular risk is assessed to be high or above.
Hypertension is diagnosed when three measurements of blood pressure on non-simultaneous days result in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg. High pressure of 146mmHg and low pressure of 99mmHg belongs to the first level of hypertension, which does not necessarily require medication, and it is recommended to go to the cardiovascular department of the hospital first to assess the condition and take appropriate treatment.
If there is no target organ damage or comorbidities such as heart, brain, kidney, etc. in the perfect examination, no medication can be used first, but through improving lifestyle intervention, such as controlling weight, low salt diet, eating more fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement potassium, quitting smoking and limiting alcohol.
If therapeutic lifestyle interventions do not control blood pressure well or if the cardiovascular risk is assessed to be high or very high, medication is required. Drugs of choice include dihydropyridine calcium channel antagonists such as amlodipine, diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors such as Benadryl, and angiotensin receptor inhibitors such as Irbesartan.
All of the above drugs should be used under the guidance of a doctor, and if necessary, can be used in small doses to achieve better antihypertensive effect.
