What is the difference between bronchiectasis hemoptysis and lung cancer hemoptysis?

The clinical manifestations of bronchiectasis combined with hemoptysis are somewhat different from those of lung cancer combined with hemoptysis. When bronchiectasis combined with hemoptysis is accompanied by purulent sputum, the amount of hemoptysis may be blood in the sputum or a large amount of hemoptysis. In most cases, the hemoptysis is blood in the sputum, and it is relatively rare to see more blood in the hemoptysis. However, patients with lung cancer can sometimes have hemoptysis, which can be so rapid that it is too late to save the patient. Bronchiectasis combined with hemoptysis can often be controlled with anti-infection treatment and hemostatic treatment. In lung cancer patients with hemoptysis, the treatment effect is not good, and anti-tumor treatment is necessary to control the hemoptysis within a short period of time, and the patient may have hemoptysis again as the tumor progresses.
