What is the most effective way to treat a child’s cough?

If a child has a cough, it is important to find the cause of the cough first. It is not good to blindly use cough suppressants because some coughs caused by pneumonia have inflammation in the lungs and the inflammation has to be expelled through coughing. A common clinical cause of cough is upper respiratory tract infection, commonly known as a cold, and these children usually have a runny nose, sneezing and coughing clinical symptoms. Some children can also have cough due to allergies. These patients only have dry cough, which is an irritating cough, without the cold symptoms of runny nose and sneezing, and are usually allergic to cold air or foreign substances such as pollen. In addition to oral cold medicine and cough syrup, nebulization can also be used to treat coughs. Nebulized medications are usually budesonide and terbutaline, and nebulization is a clinically effective way to treat coughs more quickly. In addition, there are other clinical methods for cough treatment such as pediatric massage and acupressure, which can also be used for children according to the situation.
