CA125 is 45. Is it serious?

CA125 is not usually used to determine the severity of a condition. Instead, a CA125 of 450,000 U/L suggests the possibility of having some type of malignancy or tumor recurrence. CA125, a glycoprotein tumor-associated antigen, is found in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue, adult fallopian tubes, and the uterus. The most sensitive disease to this tumor marker is ovarian cancer, and other related diseases include cervical cancer, breast cancer, and pancreatic cancer. The normal value of CA125 is 35,000 U/L. Since this test is not usually used to determine the severity of the disease, CA125 450,000 U/L may indicate that the patient is suffering from a certain kind of malignant tumor or recurrence, and at the same time, after some malignant tumors have been treated, the effect of treatment can be assessed by the before and after changes in CA125. If CA125 is found to be abnormal in laboratory tests, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital and follow the specialist’s advice to standardize the treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
