Mecobalamin Lipoic Acid and Epalrestat Taken Together

Lipoic acid, methylcobalamin and epalrestat can be taken together; the combination is for better treatment of diabetes-induced peripheral neuropathy.
1. Lipoic acid: a B vitamin, mainly used for diabetic peripheral nerve damage caused by sensory abnormalities such as numbness and pain in the limbs; side effects include headache, itching, sweating, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite, etc., with caution for people with liver and kidney insufficiency, and contraindicated in pregnancy and childbirth, children, and allergic persons.
2. Methylcobalamin: It is endogenous coenzyme b12, belonging to vitamin class. It is used in the treatment of anemia and peripheral neuropathy. Maternity, children and liver injury, caution, allergy is prohibited. Combined with vitamin B1 and Epalrestat, the effect is better.
3. Epalrestat: belongs to aldose reductase inhibitor, used for diabetic neuropathy such as pain, temperature and tactile impairment such as numbness and swelling pain. Side effects include itching, abdominal pain and distension, loss of appetite, dizziness and drowsiness. It should be used with caution for pregnant women, children and those with liver or kidney insufficiency, and is contraindicated for allergy.
All the above 3 drugs can treat diabetic peripheral neuropathy, improve symptoms and promote nerve conduction from different angles, and can be used singly or in combination, with multi-targets working together.
