What to do if your baby has a runny nose all the time

Runny nose in babies is not uncommon and is mainly caused by congestion and increased secretion in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity. Usually, you can let your child get enough sleep and give him/her supplementary fluids as well as some topical ointments to relieve the discomfort. Make sure your child gets enough rest and sleep. Generally speaking, children who have a runny nose all the time are mostly caused by respiratory diseases, and these diseases need sufficient rest during the recovery process in order to recover faster. Sufficient fluids need to be replenished, and replenishing fluids does not necessarily mean giving the child water. Many children’s foods are also adequately hydrated, and hydration can be provided in this form as well. Breast milk, milk or formula, water or juice all contain plenty of water. Hydration through these forms of food can help your child get more energy to replenish, help relieve nasal congestion, and help prevent dehydration to aid in recovery from the disease. Some medications, too, can help reduce the runny nose. Apply nasal saline drops to the nose and suck out the mucus with a straw to stop the congestion and reduce the production of snot. Use petroleum jelly or other topical ointments to relieve irritation around the nostrils. Many cases of constant runny nose in children occur as a result of disease. It is important to pay attention to the treatment of the primary disease in order to get the root cause of the runny nose production reduced.
