Reasons for high hepatitis B core antibody

High hepatitis B core antibodies are also known as positive core antibodies. High core antibodies are often produced in the blood only after the core antigen of the hepatitis B virus has stimulated the body’s immune system. Core antigen is a component of the hepatitis B virus, so a high core antibody indicates that the body is being infected or has been infected with the hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis B core antibody is further tested and is also divided into core antibody IgM type and core antibody IgG type. As long as the core antibody IgM is high, the body has entered the hepatitis B virus within six months, also known as recent infection. If the core antibody IgG type is high, it is a sign that the body has been infected with the hepatitis B virus for more than six months, which is a sign of previous infection. Regardless of whether the infection is recent or past, an important indicator of the presence of hepatitis B virus in the body is the presence of hepatitis B virus DNA in the blood, which means that the virus is present in the body and vice versa.
