Is the medicine for AIDS free?

Current antiretroviral therapy drugs for AIDS are free according to national regulations. Commonly used free antiviral drugs include abacavir, tenofovir, lamivudine, nevirapine, efavirenz, and clindamycin. A combination of two nucleoside analogs, and one non-nucleoside analog, is usually chosen for treatment. During the course of drug administration, patients may experience allergic dermatitis, impairment of liver and kidney function, as well as osteoporosis and dyslipidemia. When patients experience serious adverse reactions, which may even endanger the patient’s life, a change of treatment regimen is required. In the case of serious adverse reactions after the use of even free therapeutic drugs, the use of self-financed drugs for antiviral treatment may be considered.
