The time of appearance of cerebral edema after craniotomy

After cranial trauma or surgery, acute cerebral oedema can appear 12 to 24 hours after the injury or surgery, or 30 minutes to 4 to 6 hours if it is rapid, peaking in 1 to 3 days and gradually subsiding about 7 days after the cause is removed.
