The normal range for 24-hour urine protein quantification is ≤150mg.
24-hour urine protein quantification is the collection of all of a patient’s urine over a 24-hour period to determine the amount of protein in the urine and then calculate the total amount of protein contained. When the 24-hour urine protein quantification is greater than 150mg, it is called proteinuria, and greater than 3.5g is considered massive proteinuria. This indicator can be used to assess the severity of kidney disease and the prognosis of kidney disease.
Proteinuria can be seen in physiological causes such as strenuous exercise, fatigue, fever, etc. It can also be seen in pathologic causes such as glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, pyelonephritis and other kidney diseases, as well as other urological diseases.
When you find abnormal quantitative urine protein, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time, complete the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
