What to do when an elementary school student has his period

The term “physiological period” generally refers to a woman’s menstruation. Elementary school students who are menstruating should pay attention to adequate rest, keep the vulva clean, and avoid foods and drinks that are too cold.

1. Get plenty of rest: During menstruation, take rest and avoid strenuous exercise.

2. Keep the vulva clean: Changing sanitary napkins and underwear frequently can keep the vulva clean. Failure to change sanitary napkins frequently may lead to bacterial growth and increase the chances of infection in the vulva.

3. Avoid foods and drinks with too low a temperature: Foods and drinks with too low a temperature, such as ice cream, may cause discomfort during menstruation.

Elementary school students should also pay attention to replenish some energy and nutrients during menstruation, and also learn some physiological hygiene knowledge to have a correct understanding and awareness of menstruation and normal body development.
