A small bump on the upper eyelid may be caused by blepharitis or a cystic lead if it is a visible hard nodule. If there is no discomfort in the upper eyelid, but a small lump on the eyelid, the size of a green bean, is unintentional, the condition is considered a lid gland cyst. This is a chronic inflammatory disease of the lid gland that causes hard nodules, which can be temporarily untreated and observed in the early stages. If the upper eyelid is found to be red and swollen, followed by painful nodules or painful blinking, this phenomenon is considered to be caused by blepharitis, which is an inflammatory lesion of the lid gland. In the early stages, consider applying heat to the eyelids to promote softening of the hard nodules. The eyes are treated with topical antibiotic eye drops to spot the eyes and antibiotic eye ointment at night before bedtime. If the degree of redness and swelling worsens and sometimes significant congestion and edema is also found on the lower eyelid or face, it is best to promptly treat with antibiotic medication all over to prevent the spread of inflammation. When yellowish-white pus pockets gradually appear on the eyelids, it is best to go to the hospital to have the pus removed and then continue anti-inflammatory treatment so that the symptoms can usually gradually improve.
