If a patient’s nose is struck by an external force, resulting in a fracture of the nasal bridge, especially a multiple fracture or even a comminuted fracture, the patient’s nasal bone will indeed collapse, resulting in poor ventilation and a significant change in the shape of the patient’s nose. Sometimes the collapse or significant deviation can be observed from the appearance, affecting the patient’s aesthetics. It is recommended that the patient should go to the hospital for examination and, if necessary, consider repositioning surgery. A closed repositioning surgery or an incisional repositioning surgery can be considered for nasal fractures, depending on the degree of fracture or collapse. It is recommended that patients should not use their hands to repeatedly press the nasal bone, as this will aggravate the fracture and is not conducive to the patient’s post-operative recovery.
