Men’s physical and mental health needs urgent attention

New Express “2009 Men’s Health Day” survey results show that nearly half of the respondents (mostly men) know that October 28 is “Men’s Health Day”, 41% of those concerned about mental health, but more than 65% of men do not know However, more than 65% of men did not know about the scientific prevention of male diseases. This set of data shows that although men’s health is beginning to receive attention, but the whole society is still not enough awareness of men’s health, men’s physical and mental health can not be ignored. I asked students two questions in class when I was teaching them at Sun Yat-sen University, first how many of them knew about Women’s Day, and they raised their hands; then I asked how many of them knew about Men’s Health Day, and very few of them raised their hands. ” Dr. Chen Jun of the Department of Infertility and Sexual Medicine of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University began the seminar by citing the lack of sufficient attention to men’s health issues in today’s society. Chen Jun’s view was unanimously endorsed by the experts present, and Zhao Yongbin also believes that men’s health should receive more attention due to the rapid development of today’s society and the increasing social pressure. Men are often sick love to drag, indiscriminate use of drugs “Many male patients tend to go to small clinics first, to really serious before coming to the regular hospital, which has often delayed the best time to see the doctor.” He Navy first talked about the attitude of men to see the doctor: “I met a patient, penis pain to the point of asking to cut off before coming to see the doctor; others come to the clinic when the sperm are not a sperm, sperm duct has been completely blocked.” He Navy believes that this is because patients do not know enough about the seriousness of their disease. The actual fact is that if you can prevent and treat it in advance, the prostate enlargement can often be cured without having to do surgery. The actual fact is that some male patients are actually just looking at advertisements for medical attention and lack basic understanding of men’s health. ”The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who are not able to get a good deal on a lot of things. There are also some patients who abuse growth-enhancing sex pills, resulting in no semen or semen that is not liquefied and sperm that is not there.” He Navy said. According to Zhan Feiming, sex is traditionally considered teacherless, and it used to be that parents often passed on sexual knowledge to their children when they became married. Under the influence of this tradition, even in modern times, men are often shy to talk about male diseases, part of men have various degrees of premature ejaculation problems, but are afraid to talk about it. The treatment of male diseases still lacks uniform norms “Male diseases should be standardized.” Li Bo said, “Standard treatment is very important, such as prostatitis, which is not difficult to cure, but if you do not do a good job of anti-relapse treatment, after a while will come back, the original treatment will be in vain.” There are also a number of products on the market designed for men that have been created in response, and are considered by experts to have little therapeutic efficacy in such products. Zhao Yongbin said he had personally tried on the men’s sanitary napkin, “it does bring some cool feeling, but only contact with the perineum, the efficacy is also short, and because of the lack of a large amount of effective clinical data to support, so generally not recommended for patients to use”. Xu Zhipeng, on the other hand, said that front-line clinical experts should focus on relieving patients’ pain with technology, while others need to promote these technologies so that more patients can benefit. Three stages of mental health need urgent attention A number of experts present at the meeting said that the main male problems that they come into contact with clinically are prostatitis, sexual dysfunction, infertility and genitourinary infections, and that few men actively seek medical attention for psychological problems. Zhang Xuefang analyzed the psychological problems that may occur in men at different ages. In adolescence, men tend to have early intellectual and physical development, but immature psychological age. Schools and families pay much less attention to children’s psychology than to their grades, so some boys are prone to crime due to poor self-control and impulsiveness. By the age of 30 to 40, there are old and young, work pressure, anxiety, depression, abnormal sexual function, abnormal sexual psychology, excessive sexual catharsis or excessive repression and other psychosexual problems continue to appear, some people go to “Miss” in order to catharsis pressure, but also due to depression led to sexual repression, so that the relationship between husband and wife becomes worse. In old age, some of them become empty nesters due to the death of their partners, children, and their own health has deteriorated, resulting in anxiety, insomnia and other symptoms. Chen Jun also introduced that their hospital has received a sexual minority of male patients. “There is a male patient, usually looks very normal, but just like squatting in the toilet with a small mirror to see how people urinate, see the female bras want to steal.” He believes these highlight the urgent need for attention to the state of men’s mental health. Men’s health women are important Zhan Feiming pointed out that attention to men’s health also pay attention to the role of women. According to Zhan Feiming, we study erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in men from a male perspective, but in reality these are very relevant to women. He said, for example, that in male and female sex, women’s vaginas are H-shaped when they are not sexually excited, and the resistance is very high, which can lead to sexual failure; while women’s vaginas are O-shaped when they are sexually excited, and the resistance is much less, so they are less likely to have sexual failure. “These are all things we should consider when studying men’s problems.” He claimed.
