What are the signs and symptoms of developmental delay?

Delayed development refers to a period of time when an infant or toddler’s speech and intellectual development does not meet normal standards compared to children of the same age. There are many symptoms of developmental delay, including speech and language, physical and intellectual deficits. The developmental delay in speech and language is characterized by the inability of the infant to speak normally when he or she is old enough to speak, or to speak in simple, fragmented sentences that do not make sense, or even to produce only a few syllables. The cause, such as organic pathology or educational deficits, should be actively identified, treated and corrected. Delayed physical development is characterized by a child’s inability to reach the normal height and weight for the age group, a severe deficit in head circumference and height and weight, and a short, thin stature. If you have this condition, you need to find a professional doctor for examination and identification to avoid delaying your child’s normal growth. The symptoms of mental retardation in children are: difficulty in understanding and recognizing things around them, lack of memory, and inability to remember the names of simple things at an early age. When they are a little older, they have difficulties in learning, have weak comprehension and analysis skills, and have poor grades. It is important to detect and correct speech and intellectual delays as early as possible so as not to hinder the normal growth of children and affect their future development.
