Introduction to the orthodontic procedure of Urumqi Stomatological Hospital

Recently, we are in the peak of summer vacation, so we would like to introduce the consultation procedure of our orthodontic department here. Patients who come to our orthodontics department for the first time (initial consultation), first go to the first floor charge office to apply for a consultation card and pre-deposit the registration fee on the card, RMB 2 for general number and RMB 6 for specialist number. Then go to the orthodontic department and register with the nurse at the triage desk, then wait in line for the triage nurse to call your number. When registering, you can choose to register for any doctor’s number. If the patient decides to undergo orthodontic treatment, he or she will need to take pictures, make models, take photos, build a case and make some preparations on the same day, and make an appointment for the next visit. At the second visit (usually a week later), the minor patient will need to be accompanied by a parent to confirm the treatment plan and have the parent sign for the orthodontic treatment to begin. If orthodontic extractions are required, they will be performed on the same day as the treatment plan is signed at the second visit. Therefore, patients should be prepared psychologically and female patients should avoid menstrual periods. The third appointment will be scheduled 3-5 days after all orthodontic teeth have been extracted. At the third appointment, you will be able to get your aligners (braces). After that, you can have a follow-up appointment once a month. For patients who do not need to have their teeth extracted, they can get braces at the second visit. Therefore, it takes about two to three weeks before and after the initial consultation to get braces, so please schedule your appointment in advance, and don’t wait until the school year starts, as you may not be able to get your braces before the school year starts. For follow-up appointments, please take your registration card directly to the triage nurse and get in line for your doctor’s number. It is important to note that you will need to register for each follow-up appointment, so don’t forget to bring your appointment card.
