Huang Jing can be used for both medicinal and food purposes, and there is no definite group of people who can’t eat it, but it is not suitable for people with spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction, phlegm-dampness congestion, or stagnant qi and abdominal fullness.
Huang Jing is the dried rhizome of the lily plant Huang Jing or Huang Jing with many flowers, which is sweet in flavor and flat in nature; it belongs to the spleen, lung and kidney meridians; it has the effects of tonifying qi, strengthening the spleen, nourishing yin, moistening the lungs and benefiting the kidneys.
Huang Jing can be used for the treatment of deficiency of spleen and stomach qi, tiredness and fatigue; insufficiency of stomach yin (insufficiency of yin fluid in the stomach), dry mouth and little food; deficiency of lung and dry cough, coughing and coughing up blood with labor and insufficiency of essence and blood, and soreness and weakness of lumbar and knee, and so on.
It should be noted that because of the sticky nature of this product, it is easy to help dampness and congestion of qi, so it should not be used by people with spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction, phlegm-dampness congestion and qi stagnation and fullness, and it should not be consumed by this kind of people, so as not to aggravate the discomfort. In addition, the use of Chinese herbs is recommended under the guidance of a physician, and is not recommended to be used or consumed blindly on one’s own.
