Management of infusion anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis occurs during infusion, first of all, stop the drug immediately, let the patient lie down, resuscitate on the spot, immediately intramuscular injection of the first choice of anti-anaphylactic shock drug epinephrine, if the symptoms are not relieved can be repeated according to the situation of the use of epinephrine. Secondly, glucocorticoid drugs and anti-allergic drugs should be applied, such as intravenous dexamethasone or intravenous hydrocortisone, intramuscular injection of ipratropium hydrochloride or diphenhydramine. Then, saline should be rapidly infused to replenish blood volume, raise blood pressure, monitor the patient’s blood pressure, respiration, heart rate and pulse oximetry on cardiac monitor, and give the patient oxygen. If the patient’s blood pressure is still low, he or she can be given drugs to raise blood pressure, such as dopamine or norepinephrine. If the patient suffers respiratory or cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) should be performed immediately.
