Once you have decided to have myopic laser surgery, you will need to have a thorough and systematic eye examination to determine if the surgery is feasible for you. These include: 1. Visual acuity examination: naked eye vision and visual acuity examination with glasses. 2.Refractive status examination: computerized optometry, dilated optometry and re-testing to determine the target degree of surgery. 3.Ocular segment and fundus examination: Slit lamp and triple-lens examination to check corneal transparency, crystal turbidity, fundus examination for vitreous turbidity and fundus lesions, etc. 4.IOP examination: to rule out the possibility of high intraocular pressure and glaucoma. 5.Corneal topography examination: the main purpose is to understand the regularity and symmetry of the entire corneal surface, except for various abnormal factors. (Our hospital is currently using the most advanced OBSCAN II system, the examination results are more accurate.) 6.Corneal thickness measurement: for those whose central corneal thickness is less than 450μm, if the patient is highly myopic, attention should be paid to the central corneal cutting depth, and the relevant information should be explained to the patient before surgery. 7.Wavefront aberration examination: Special examination for individualized refractive surgery guided by wavefront aberration. After the basic examination, the doctor can tell you whether you are suitable for excimer keratomileusis and help you choose the right surgery according to your condition. (Tip: It is best to stop wearing contact lenses for at least 3 to 4 days before the examination to ensure the accuracy of the results; the pupils need to be dilated for the first examination.)
