Basal body temperature measurement Method of measurement: Every day before going to bed, shake the mercury column of body temperature juice to below 35℃ and place it on the pillow, before waking up early in the morning (after 6-8 hours of sleep during the day for those on night shift) without any activity, place the thermometer under the tongue and measure the oral temperature for 5 minutes, record and draw a curve by day. In women with normal ovarian function, the basal body temperature curve shows regular changes: the basal body temperature fluctuates at a low level during the first half of menstruation (i.e. follicular phase), decreases slightly during ovulation, and then rises into the second half of menstruation (i.e. luteal phase, normal luteal phase is 12-16 days), generally rising about 0.3-0.6℃, and is maintained until menstruation, when the body temperature decreases. Therefore, the basal body temperature of women with normal ovarian function is a typical biphasic curve. Ovulation mostly occurs on the day when the basal body temperature is at its lowest, or at the time before and after the change from the low temperature phase to the high temperature phase; when ovulation occurs, it is usually about two weeks before the onset of menstruation. By analyzing the basal temperature curve of continuous measurements, the date of ovulation can be generally known. The basal body temperature can be used to determine the presence or absence of ovulation, to guide the treatment and follow up the effect of treatment, and to predict early pregnancy. A prolonged luteal phase and a basal body temperature that does not drop in the high-temperature phase suggest early pregnancy. It is generally believed that if the high temperature phase is more than 16 days, the possibility of early pregnancy is about 97%; if it is more than 20 days, the possibility is almost 100%. 1.Buy a thermometer and master the method of reading it to make sure it is accurate. 2.Every night before going to bed, throw the mercury column of the thermometer to below 35 degrees and put it within reach after waking up. 3.Every morning after waking up, immediately put the thermometer under the tongue for 5 minutes and then take out the reading, and record it on the special form. 4.It is strictly forbidden to get up, urinate, defecate, eat and talk before measuring the temperature. 5, should record the presence of many factors affecting the basal body temperature, such as: colds, insomnia, alcohol consumption, medication, etc. To measure the basal body temperature, you can use an ordinary thermometer, the main thing is to master the correct measurement method.
