What does vinegar white epithelium mean

The full name for white vinegar epithelium is white acetate epithelium, which is often the clinical term used in colposcopy. During colposcopy, acetic acid may be applied to the surface of the cervix in order to understand the location of the local lesion, and if a thick white acetic acid epithelium is present, the lesion is considered to be there. If the white acetic acid epithelium is present and the iodine is mustard yellow, the biopsy is more accurate and will not be missed clinically. Therefore, if colposcopy reveals a thicker and more clearly defined lesion, it is considered to be a cervical epithelial lesion.
