What to eat for bronchitis and cough in the elderly

Elderly patients with bronchitis are clinically advised to consume the following foods: i. Foods that are easy to digest. The elderly have poor gastrointestinal function and are advised to consume foods that are easy to digest, such as noodles, pasta sheets, noodle soups, etc. Second, foods rich in minerals as well as vitamins, such as cabbage, rape, bananas, apples, oranges, etc. Clinically, it is not recommended to consume foods high in sugar, salt and grease, which can lead to aggravation of respiratory symptoms. Third, if the patient has fever, there is a risk of inducing hypokalemia due to profuse sweating and excessive urination. Clinically, it is recommended to eat foods or fruits rich in potassium. IV. If the patient has gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, it is not clinically recommended to consume foods that can easily lead to aggravation of gastrointestinal symptoms, such as eggs, milk and other foods that are not easily digested.
