To determine whether the abdominal distension is caused by tumor, imaging examination and pathological biopsy are usually needed.

If it is a tumor, the next step is pathological biopsy.
2. Pathological biopsy: The result of this examination can understand the nature of the tumor and determine whether the tumor is benign or malignant.
Besides tumors, abdominal distension can be caused by a variety of reasons, such as indigestion, cirrhosis, ascites, bile duct stones, gastrointestinal dysfunction, overeating and so on.
