Paediatric diarrhea massage techniques

  Diarrhea is a common pediatric disease caused by a variety of causes, characterized by an increase in the number of stools and thin or watery stools. The disease can occur throughout the year, especially in the summer and autumn. The age of onset is mainly infants and young children, with the highest incidence in children aged 6 months to 2 years.  Tui na in Chinese medicine is very unique in the treatment of pediatric diarrhea. It is through certain special techniques with the relationship between the acupuncture points, meridians and internal organs of the child, and through the adjustment of qi and blood, so that the qi and blood of the stomach and intestines of the child are more full, thus achieving the purpose of treating diarrhea. Tuina techniques for pediatric diarrhea, different tuina techniques are used according to different symptoms.  1, cold damp diarrhea: diarrhea thin, or even like water, light color, no odor, abdominal pain, intestinal tinnitus, stuffy food, or with fever, nasal congestion, headache, urine clear and long, thin white or white greasy tongue coating, floating tight pulse, red fingerprints.  (1) Thoracic and abdominal operations: 100 times each of abdominal massage and navel rubbing.  (2) Upper limbs: pushing San Guan, rubbing Wai Lao Gong 300 times each, tonifying the spleen meridian and large intestine 200 times each.  (3) Lower extremity operation: press and rub the foot three li 200 times. (4) operation of the lower back: pushing the upper seven bones and rubbing the tail of the turtle 100 times each.  2. Damp-heat diarrhea: watery stools, or egg-flower soup-like, smelly, or with a little mucus, accompanied by abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or with nausea, vomiting, fatigue, restlessness, thirst, yellow urine, red and yellowish tongue coating, slippery pulse, and purple fingerprints.  Tuina techniques: (1) thoracic and abdominal operations: knead the tianshu 200 times; (2) upper limb operations: clear the large intestine and retreat the six internal organs 300 times each, and clear the spleen meridian and stomach meridian 200 times each.  (3) operation of the back and waist: pushing the lower seven bones and kneading the tail of the turtle 100 times each.  3, wounded food diarrhea: loose stools with milk flaps or undigested food residues, abdominal pain and intestinal tinnitus, crying before diarrhea, pain decreases after diarrhea, sour smell of stools. Or vomiting, loss of appetite, restless sleep, thick and greasy tongue coating, or slightly yellow, purple fingerprints.  (1) Thoracic and abdominal operations: rubbing the middle epigastrium, abdominal massage, rubbing the tianshu 100 times each.  (2) Upper extremity operation: tonic spleen meridian, transport internal bagua, knead Panmen 300 times each, clear stomach, large intestine, retreat six internal organs 200 times each.  (3) operation of the lower back: kneading the tail of the turtle 100 times.  4. Spleen deficiency diarrhea: light-colored and non-odorous stools, mostly appearing after eating, recurrent episodes, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, the number of stools will increase with slight dietary indiscretion, accompanied by loss of appetite, yellow face, fatigue and weakness, thin body type, light white tongue coating, slow and weak pulse, light fingerprints.  (1) Thoracic and abdominal manipulation: 100 times each of abdominal massage and navel rubbing.  (2) Upper limb operation: pushing San Guan, tonic spleen meridian, tonic large intestine 300 times each, rubbing outer labor gong 200 times.  (3) Operation on the lower back: pushing the upper seven bones, rubbing the tail of the turtle 100 times, and kneading the spine 6 times.
