Touching the eyeball with raised bumps may be caused by blepharitis, blepharopharyngoid cysts, eyelid tumors and so on. 1. Blepharitis: Blepharitis, also known as wheals, refers to acute purulent inflammation of the glands of the eyelids, and patients may experience localized redness, swelling, heat and pain in the eyelids. Because the eyelid is swollen, the patient can touch the eyeball when touching the bulging swelling. 2. Blepharophalangeal cyst: also known as chalazion, belongs to a kind of idiopathic chronic non-suppurative inflammation of the blepharophalangeal gland, which leads to the blockage of the outlet of the blepharophalangeal gland by the secretion, and thus the patient may have subcutaneous cysts of the eyelid, and so the patient may have the symptom of palpating the swelling. 3. Eyelid tumor: patients with eyelid tumor can also have the symptom of touching the bulging swelling in the eyelid because of benign hyperplasia or malignant hyperplasia of eyelid tissues leading to bulging eyelid area.
