Insulin and fat may have a relationship.
Insulin is an endocrine hormone secreted by pancreatic β-cells. Insulin exerts a glucose-lowering effect in the body, while promoting the synthesis of fat, protein and glycogen. The body’s intake of nutrients converted to glucose, blood glucose concentration rises to stimulate the secretion of insulin, insulin makes the blood sugar drop, excess glucose is converted to fat, glycogen, for the body to store energy.
Long-term use or heavy use of insulin may lead to the development of fat accumulation and obesity. Many people with diabetes require insulin, and the effects of high doses of insulin may lead to fat accumulation and weight gain at the injection site or throughout the body.
There is a relationship between insulin and fat, and diabetics need to use insulin under the supervision of a physician to avoid drug-related adverse effects.
