Causes of lower abdominal pain in women

The causes of lower abdominal pain in women may be ovulation pain, menstrual cramps, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, pelvic tumors and so on.
1. Ovulation pain: due to the increase of prostaglandins in the body during ovulation. Prostaglandins stimulate smooth muscle spasms, causing mild abdominal pain. It is also possible that a small amount of bleeding after ovulation stimulates the peritoneum to cause slight pain.
2. Dysmenorrhea: dysmenorrhea is a common symptom in women, due to uterine contraction pain caused by elevated prostaglandins, in addition to dysmenorrhea caused by neurogenic dysmenorrhea and adenomyosis.
3. Chronic pelvic inflammation: Inflammation of the pelvic tissues, including cervicitis, endometritis, tubo-ovarian inflammation, etc., may lead to the symptoms of lower abdominal pain.
4. Endometriosis: due to the bleeding symptoms during menstruation, it may lead to pelvic tissue adhesion and cause symptoms of lower abdominal pain. Adenomyosis is also a kind of endometriosis. With the increase of menstruation, the uterus enlarges, which will cause the symptoms of lower abdominal pain.
5. Pelvic tumors: multiple uterine fibroids, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts, teratoma, cervical cancer and so on may lead to lower abdominal pain and other symptoms.
Women with lower abdominal pain need to go to the hospital in time to confirm the diagnosis, and then take active treatment after the diagnosis is clear.
