How to treat facial muscle spasm

Facial myoclonus is a disease that mostly occurs in middle-aged people. The symptoms usually start with the eyelid twitching, and then gradually expand to other facial muscles on one side of the face, and in severe cases, it can even involve the mouth muscles and the broad neck muscles. Facial muscle spasm is often easy to ignore in the initial attack because the symptoms are not obvious, often because of fatigue, mental tension and other factors to induce convulsions, and when it develops into serious, it will be frequent attacks, often making patients unable to work or study normally, greatly reducing the quality of life. The current clinical treatment for facial muscle spasm, such as drugs, acupuncture, botulinum toxin and other therapies are not very satisfactory. Regarding more accurate and effective treatments for facial myospasm, our medical staff has been working continuously. Currently, according to a large number of clinical studies, most patients with facial myospasm are due to the formation of compression between the facial nerve and the responsible blood vessels, which triggers the twitching symptoms, and can be effectively treated by surgery for the cause. Our team carries out microvascular decompression to treat patients. After general anesthesia, the anatomical relationship between the important nerve and blood vessels is observed under a microscope, the vessel that is compressing the nerve and causing the symptoms is identified, and the adhesion or compression relationship is released, and the facial muscle spasm is naturally resolved.
