How to treat wounds with exposed flesh

Clinically, different treatment methods are chosen for exposed wounds according to the degree of infection of the wound tissue.1. For new lacerations, the subcutaneous tissue is exposed. In this case, soapy water needs to be given first to clean the dirt on the skin surface and carefully observe whether the exposed tissue is completely necrotic. Rinse the incision with hydrogen peroxide, vital iodine, and saline in that order. If the tissue in the wound is rich in blood supply and there is no obvious manifestation of blood necrosis, a phase of debridement and suture treatment can be given. 2. If the exposed wound is accompanied by necrosis of the subcutaneous tissue. In this case, the subcutaneous necrotic tissue needs to be removed together with the local debridement. And not to give a phase of suture, only iodoform or petroleum jelly gauze can be given to fill the drainage wound to avoid further aggravation of wound infection.
